Anyway, gotta love Paragon and Dervish! I'm still not too sure about which one I will play....maybe both.

I wouldn't mind a Chemist class in a future update. Your skills are various potions, and depending on the order you use them, different things can occur. Maybe if you use three potions in a certain order, you can cause a spike or heal to take place.

Hmm... I know this is a "Yea right, stop thinking too much" idea, but it actually makes sense in a strange way.
Okay, Shouts were just recently changed in a patch to "withing earshot range."
Anyone who has ever taken physics knows that sound carries further at night.
Guild Wars: Nightfall suggests that there might be a change between day/night in this installment.
Could these just be coincidences, or could Nightfall actually implement a day and night mode? If so, that would probably mean a Shout a daytime might be to adjacent allies but a Shout at nighttime could affect all nearby allies.
Just a little comment... and yes, I'm probably thinking too much.

the idea of the dervish being able to temporarily transform into some type of god is very intriguing. i hope that there are several types of gods to choose from depending on situation and intention.
think of the graphical and playable possibilities. rather than shouts or stances, the dervish could transform into gods that soak up damage, mirror elemental damage, increase the dmg output of the party, etc.... fun stuff.

it all sounds very cool and i can't wait to try both. but the sad bit is i have 6 lv 20 pve chars, all have finished factions, 2 have 15k armor and 2 have FoW.(my ranger is biting on the short end as i can't find 15k armor i like) other than that i'd love a temp slot for the weekend. i aslo think the dervish would be great alongside the warrior and assassin. three melee classes can't go wrong. on a side note this so called warrior armor "nerf" as some call it seems like it was done with the paragon in mind seeing as the mere presence of one reduces and protects from hexes and crap.

Here's a suggestion; hopefully, if Gaile stops by again she can see it.
I would love the addition of 90 new elite skills in Nightfall. However, each elite skill can only be unlocked in the primary attribute of a certain class combination. Therefore, since there is going to be 90 combinations of classes, each of these special elites can only be unlocked by 1 of the combinations.
For example, a Monk/Necromancer might have a special elite unlocked in Divine Healing, called Funeral Prayer... where if cast when an ally is dead, for the next 4-12 seconds, each Monk healing spell heals for an additional 10-45 points and costs half energy.
But a Necromancer/Monk, would have a different special elite unocked in the Necro's primary attribute.
This might bring people to using some more interesting combinations of professions instead of just sticking with basic builds such as W/Mo, W/R IWAY, Mo/Me Booner, and so on... Other examples would be a Me/E could have a spell that increases the speed of spells and causes lightning damage to adjacent foes everytime a spell is used. An A/R could have an elite that helps spam even more conditions upon each crit hit. An A/N could have an elite that helps degeneration.
On a side note, I just thought of the greatest profession combination for Nightfall...
If the Dervish really does AoE melee damage with his scythe, then a D/Me would be sick with Illusionary Weaponry... mmmm!

I like those ideas, and its been posted on sardelac before (as well as ideas for armor for cross classes). Good idea, yes, implementable, doubtful x.x

That SO had to be said, and repeated.
QFT!
With regards to the whole god-transforming process... in the name of balance, there has to be a price to be paid. Before we get too excited about god-hood... consider what balancing negative there has to be as a result of doing so. Perhaps the process leaves you extremely vulnerable for a certain period of time or something...
Needs to be considered, folks...

Yea, kind of makes me think of the elite Shadow Form...
What!?! invincible for 15 seconds!? oh wait.... there goes all but 50 of my health...
I'm just wondering about God-hood and Arcane... I'm a god! oh wait, I'm not! wait, I'm a god again! Maybe it'll drain your energy into nothing.

Anet's losing their creativity -_-. Another monk spinoff and a paladin made into a profession. Nice.

I have this horrible feeling that there will be lots of holy damage being thrown around and my Tormentor's armor is going to get painful.

The Dervish to me sounds like a spellcaster but instead of attacking with a wand, he attacks in melee. They sound siimilar to druids.

You'll attach Guild Wars Nightfall to your main account (if you so choose), by the exact same method you combined Factions to that account. The games are said to be releasing every 6 months so the next release will be just in time for around Christmas time. (Sneaky planning eh?). Since it will be released before Christmas though I'll just buy it myself though, BUT I think it'll be fun having a few people buy me character slots as a Christmas present
EDIT: Oh and when I went back to review what I had missed it seemed like there was a moderately sizable block of posts missing from this thread; like one or two pages of conversations. Maybe I'm dreaming, or maybe I was correct about there being a mod that hates me and keeps secretly deleting my posts O.o

Hell yes!
If there were two weapons I would've killed for in Guild Wars they would've been the spear and the scythe. I love those sorts of weapons, and the fact that both of the new classes have precisely these two weapons to wield is brilliant for me. Both classes sound very cool, and the Dervish especially for me. Not only is a scythe just plain neat, but if it's to be a melee character with some spells, well...how many meleemancers are there out there? I know personally on my necromancer I'd kill to have better melee builds. For the Dervish to come along now in Chapter 3, I'll be a pretty happy guy. Even if they suck, I'll still play them.
Good stuff, if nothing else it's good to see progress in the amount of time they set for themselves.
